It’s been so busy the last few weeks that good pairings have been coming thick and fast but this was a great match I enjoyed at an offbeat new occasional restaurant which was launched by food and wine writer Marc Millon in Topsham, Devon the other day. (He’s also contributed a couple of pieces to this site including this wonderful piece about Bagna Cauda)

I even managed to catch my train 🙌@ellypear @essexeating, @ppopss and I had afternoon tea yesterday rather than going out (cos still 5 days to payday) and as you can see it was an absolute feast. Elly was road-testing a Mother’s Day cake with a lemon, mascarpone and white chocolate frosting (see her recent reel) and Dan made a pitch perfect leek tart. The less said about my scones the better. Followed a new recipe which turned out more like a cobbler. At least I provided some very drinkable pet nat. (💯 yes to wine at tea time!)
